Former UFC light heavyweight title holder Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida 16-1-0 (Win-Loss-Draw) shared his thoughts on his upcoming bout with former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson 30-8-0 (Win-Loss-Draw) at UFC 123 on November this year in Michigan.

“Rampage couldn’t be a better opponent and the date is great, too; it gives me time to prepare , I’m happy to be back and to prove I’m in the mix with the best of them. I’m working hard, I’m correcting a lot of things and putting a lot of effort in. I’m doing all aspects of fighting, the takedowns, ground fighting and striking . A fight between two former champions couldn’t be more fitting, two fighters who want their place in the sun. He’s a strong guy who has good boxing and wrestling. I feel he’s a bit limited standing, but he’s really strong and, although he may defend well on the ground, he’s not that good there, either. Former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell recently shared his thoughts on his future plans in the world of mma. However, “The Iceman” was already warned by UFC President Dana White that he needs to hang up his gloves after suffering his last three fights in stoppages. He was knocked out cold by former UFC middleweight champion Rich “Ace” Franklin last June 12, 2010 at UFC 115, he was also stopped by current UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Rashad “Suga” Evans.

“It’s about how I feel and if I want to go back and make a run at a title and how far away that would be. And whatever I think is left in the tank. I’ve been doing PR stuff for the last couple months, and I’ll finally be home for the month. I’ll probably decide sometime in September, when I have time to relax. I don’t feel like there’s anything left to prove. I still love fighting, but there’s a lot that goes into it. Maybe it might be time. I’m just not sure yet. You know, I’ve enjoyed the ride. UFC legend and two time champion Randy “The Natural” Couture recently speaks about his dominating performance against former boxing champ James Toney and the respect he has for the boxer.

“Well you never really know what’s going to happen in a fight. I certainly had to take James seriously and I felt like I had a great chance if I took him to the ground that he wasn’t going to be able to learn enough to survive there and it turned out that was an accurate assessment. That made the night pretty easy for me , I have never had allusions of being a world class boxer. As long as I’ve been wrestling, James has been boxing. I think it would be silly for me to think that I’m gonna go in and do well against a world champion boxer and I think it was silly for James to think that he was going to step in and do well in mixed martial arts. I think given time, he can be an effective mixed martial artist but he’s got a lot of things to learn.” Couture said via MMAmania (Sports Radio Interview)

Former UFC lightweight contender and current Bellator contender Roger Huerta speaks recently about his involvement in the street fight early this month. Huerta was seen in the video of TMZ were he is stomping a guy who just sucker punched a woman just outside of a bar in Austin, Texas.

“I approached the man and said, “You don’t do that. You don’t hit a woman.” The video doesn’t show what happened next, but he said, “F— you. I’ll knock any b—- out I want.” The tape also doesn’t show that he swung at me two or three times right after that. All you see is me bouncing up and down. He has already swung at me at that point. Then the guy takes off running. I chased him down and you saw what else happened… I can’t talk about what exactly happened because it’s a legal metter… If the same thing occurred, I would do it all over again. UFC light heavyweight prospect Jon “Bones” Jones speaks about his desire to fight the winner of Ryan “Darth” Bader against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at UFC 119 on September 25. Jones has notable wins over the likes of Stephan Bonnar, Jake O’ Brien, Brandon Vera and recently to Vladimir Matyushenko.

“Right now I’m waiting for Ryan Bader and Lil’ Nog to fight each other and I’ll fight the winner of that, and I’m predicting that I’m about two fights away from a title shot. I had a meeting with Dana and Lorenzo and that’s kind of where were going with it. They didn’t really say two fights. They said you know, you beat the winner of Bader/Lil’ Nog, we’ll give you one more fight. We’ll see you know how you win the fights, depending on the fashion of the finish, then you know, we’ll give you a title shot.” Jones said via MMAmania

Former boxing champ James “Lights Out” Toney speaks about his recent bout against hall of famer Randy “The Natural” Couture and the submission loss he suffered in the first round. He challenged Couture to return the favor and fight him in the boxing ring.

“My thing with Randy Couture is he is a legend in his sport. He seems like a good person. I don’t know him personally, but from when I met him, he seems like he’s a great dude, man. And if he is a real man, come put the gloves on. I did it his way, now come do it my way. I’m glad they got respect for me because my background speaks for me. Current UFC welterweight champion George “Rush” St.Pierre will face number one welterweight contender Josh “Kos” Koscheck at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada for the UFC 124. UFC has officially confirmed today via MMAfighting.com

St.Pierre has successfully defended his welterweight title 4 times and is currently on a 7 fight winning streak with wins over the likes of Karo Parisyan, Jason Miller, Frank Trigg, Sean Sherk, BJ Penn, Matt Hughes, Matt Serra, Jon Fitch, Thiago Alves and recently to Dan Hardy.

While Koscheck defeated Paul Daley to earn a title shot and had notable wins against the likes of Diego Sanchez, Dustin Hazelett, Chris Lytle, Frank Trigg and Anthony Johnson.

Former boxing champ James “Lights Out” Toney’s mma career is officially over according to UFC President Dana White after he suffered a first round submission loss to UFC veteran and hall of famer Randy “The Natural” Couture. White added that the loss has made him realize that boxers won’t fit in the Octagon.

“He’s a boxer and that’s what he does. He wanted a fight in the UFC, he picked a fight with our guys, and he fought tonight, he’s a tough guy. I have a lot of respect for him, but you can’t expect a guy to come in with one discipline and do well. He stepped up, he came in and did it. Current UFC lightweight champion Frankie “The Answer” Edgar has proven his self after defeating BJ Penn for the second time in a dominant performance at last night’s main event at UFC 118 in the TD Garden in Boston.

“The Answer’s” game plan was the same in their first fight but he totally dominated Penn in all 5 rounds. All three judges scored the bout 50-45.

Edgar will defend his title against the only man who defeated him, Gray “The Bully” Maynard who also happens to fight in the undercard where he won a unanimous decision to former number one lightweight contender Kenny Florian.

UFC legend Randy “The Natural” Couture made no extra effort against James Toney as he submitted the former boxing champ via arm triangle in the first round. “The Natural” did not waste time after taking Toney in the ground and didn’t even give Toney a chance.

UFC hall of famer and legend Randy “The Natural” Couture speaks about his dominant win against former boxing champ James “Lights Out” Toney last night at UFC 118 in Boston. “The Natural” used his wrestling skills and took Toney to the ground and submit him with an arm triangle.

“It went exactly according to plan which is a rarity in our sport. I was pretty happy to see it go that way… Range was a big factor, especially against a guy with the striking skills James has. You don’t see too many guys shoot a low single in mixed martial arts. And I knew the low single would work and make it difficult for him to counter punch me or catch me coming in. I got the mount position and he didn’t have any idea how to get out of the mount. I had the choke once and he was propped up against the fence. I had to adjust and let him off the hook, but he gave it to me again.” Couture said via ESPN Live
