“Shogun” Rua vs. Forrest Griffin For UFC: Rio In August

A rematch between Forrest Griffin and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua will be featured on the “UFC: Rio” card for the UFC’s return to Brazil on August 27.

Griffin spoiled Rua’s 2007 UFC debut with a surprising third-round submission.

After rebounding from back-to-back losses with a November 2009 win over Tito Ortiz, Griffin (18-6) returned in February with a unanimous decision win over Rich Franklin.

Meanwhile, Rua (19-5) defeated Lyoto Machida last May for the Light Heavyweight title, but dropped the title with a third-round TKO loss to Jon Jones last month.

UFC: Rio is expected to be headlined by a rematch between Anderson Silva and Yushin Okami.
