Roy Nelson Out Indefinitely Due To Contract Dispute

After being pulled from January’s , will be out of the UFC indefinitely in order to settle contract issues before he can return to the Octagon.

It is being reported that Nelson is tied to Roy Jones Jr.’s Square Ring Promotions after being a part of the March 2009 “March Badness” event against Jeff Monson.

hasn’t offered many details on the situation. “These guys go out and sign with these rinky-dink little promotion companies and sign these bad contracts, and let’s just say Roy Nelson is involved in a bad contract right now that he had before,” White said.

After getting back-to-back wins to start his UFC career, Nelson (15-5) dropped a unanimous decision to in August.

Nelson was set to face at UFC 125, but Carwin has to withdraw due to a back surgery. Nelson was then pulled from the card as they had work to settle the contract issues.
