After defeating Yoshihiro Akiyama at UFC 120 for his second-straight win, Michael Bisping said he believes he’s one win away earning a shot at the middleweight champion Anderson Silva.
“Everything is coming together in my skill set. And now I’m ready. If I can’t do it now, I’m never gonna do it,” Bisping said at the UFC 120 post-fight press conference. “[Tonight] was a good win. I want to fight a tough guy, whoever it is. I think one more win against a real credible opponent, I think that would get me a title shot, but obviously it’s not up to me is it?”
While Dana White offered only a “we’ll see” response, Bisping already has an opponent in mind for his next fight: Wanderlei Silva.
“I’d like to fight Wanderlei again, definitely,” said Bisping, who dropped a unanimous decision to Silva in February. “I would even consider coaching The Ultimate Fighter against him.”
