After seeing his fellow countrymen falter in front of a soldout O2 Arena, Michael Bisping delivered a much-needed win for the London fans with a unanimous decision over Yoshihiro Akiyama in the main event of Saturday’s UFC 120.

Bisping survived an early scare to outstrike Akiyama over the three-round headliner and The Ultimate Fighter 3 winner walked away with a deserved 30-27 shutout from all three judges.

In the UFC 120 co-main event, Carlos Condit stunned British striker Dan Hardy, dropping the former welterweight challenger late in the opening round before putting him to sleep with a pair of heavy punches on the ground.

Also on the main card, Mike Pyle dominated previously unbeaten British prospect John Hathaway, Cheick Kongo fought to a draw against Travis Browne after losing a point in the final round, and Claude Patrick topped TUF 9 winner James Wilks.

$60,000 fight night bonuses were awarded to Bisping and Akiyama for “Fight of the Night,” Condit for “Knockout of the Night,” and Paul Sass for “Submission of the Night.”
