has resumed training and expects to face ′s main event winner between and later this year.

A shoulder injury forced Belfort out of an April fight with Silva, but after undergoing successful surgery, Belfort said that he’s off painkillers for the first time in 18-months.

“Everyone was saying, ‘You need surgery,’ but I wasn’t at peace with that,” Belfort said. “I went to the best doctor in Brazil, and he showed me the number of fighters who keep fighting and make their careers short. You can’t fight numbers.”

Belfort  didn’t reveal who he thought would with the Silva vs. Sonnen fight, but said he’s ready to reclaim his legacy regardless of his next opponent.

“I’m the kind of guy who doesn’t worry about what’s going to come my way. As long as I stay on my path, I’m not worried about who’s in it,” Belfort said. “I want to get my legacy back.”
