Roy Nelson vs. Junior dos Santos Announced For UFC 117

A fight between Junior dos Santos and Roy Nelson has been officially announced for the main card of UFC 117 on August 6 in Oakland, California.

Dos Santos (11-1) earned title shot after a first-round “Knockout of the Night” over Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC on Versus 1 in March for his fifth-straight UFC victory

Nelson (15-4) knocked out Brendan Schaub in December to win The Ultimate Fighter 10 and then followed that up with a 39-second KO over Stefan Struve in March.

UFC 117 will be headlined by Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen, and will also feature Thiago Alves vs. Jon Fitch and Matt Hughes vs. Ricardo Almeida.
