Long time defending UFC middleweight champion Anderson “Spider” Silva 26-4-0 (Win-Loss-Draw) will once again defend his 185 pound title against journeyman Chael Sonnen 24-10-1 (Win-Loss-Draw) on August 7 in the main headliner of UFC 117 that will held in Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.

UFC 117 was officially announced on Thursday and it features other popular fighters like Matt Hughes against Ricardo Almeida, lightweights Clay Guida and Rafael dos Anjos. Also included is a top heavyweight prospect Junior do Santos taking on “The Ultimate Fighter” season 10 winner Roy “Big Country” Nelson.

Welterweights Jon Fitch and Thiago “Pitbull” Alves are also included in the pay-per-view event that will held in Oracle Center.

The preliminary fight cards includes Thiago Silva vs.Tim Boetsch, Dustin Hazelett vs. Rick Story, Dennis Hallman vs. Ben Saunders, Johnny Hendricks vs. Charlie Brennenman and recently announced match-up Rodney Wallace and UFC newcomer Stanislav Nedkov.
