Former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell 21-7-0 (Win-Loss-Draw) will once again headline an event after a long 14 month layoff. He will square off with the former UFC middleweight champion Rich “Ace” Franklin 25-5-0 (Win-Loss-Draw) at UFC 115.

Quotes from “The Iceman” via MMAfighting.com:

“No worries about my long layoff. I’ve been in shape for a long time. I didn’t start my camp at 250. I started at 224. I’m not really worried about it and I’m in shape and I’m good to go. If he (Franklin), wants to push, I’ll push him as far as he wants to go. I had plenty of time to adapt and prepare for Rich. I plan to knock him out.”

Both fighters came from devastating knockout losses, Liddell was knocked out by the current UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua while Rich Franklin was knocked out by “The Phenom” Vitor Belfort. It’s a make or break for the two former champions. Who will win? Will Liddell prove that he still has one more fight in him? Or will Franklin be the last man to defeat Liddell?
