At a press conference yesterday at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada, President of UFC Dana White together with CEO Lorenzo Fertitta announced the official opening of UFC office that will be head by former Football League commissioner Tom Wright.
“With all the support that we receive from all the fans as well as the media is second to none,” White said. “Vancouver was the fastest sellout history and all fight events that were held here is a huge success. It’s about time for UFC to show its commitment to this place and prove that we are passionate on all our Canadian fans as they are about us.” White added.
The newly appointed commissioner Tom Wright was a commissioner of Canadian Football League 2002 to 2006. He was also the former President of Adidas Canada and CEO of Salomon North America.
Canadian fans will be expecting a lot of future events and it’s another big success for the UFC and Dana White. Popular fighters that hails in Canada includes current UFC Welterweight champion George “Rush” St.Pierre, Patrick “Predator” Cote, Denis Kang, Jason McDonald and Sam Stout.
