Junior Dos Santos Vs Roy Nelson for UFC 117

On August 7 of this year, heavyweight competitor Junior Dos Santos has stated that he’ll fight against Roy Nelson which is the winner of the Ultimate Fighter 10 on the pay-per-view main card of “UFC 117: Silva vs. Sonnen” in Oakland, California.

Originally, Cheick Kongo was the official opponent of Roy Nelson but he had to withdraw from the proposed fight at UFC 116 due to a back injury. There are also speculations that the replacement for Cheick Kongo was Frank Mir.

Both fighters are in the peak of their career in the Octagon. Dos Santos stays in line for a title shot by scoring a first round knockout of the night against Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC on Versus 1, while Nelson scored back to back UFC knockouts of Brendan Schaub against Stefan Struve.
