Diego “Nightmare”Sanchez 21 – 3 – 0 (Win – Loss – Draw) has decided to move back to his original division after just three fights in the Lightweight Division. His last fight was against former UFC Lightweight champion Bj “Prodigy” Penn where he loses a lopsided decision. Sanchez is already thinking about going back to his original division and that is the 170 pound division where most of the elite fighters like the current UFC Welterweight champion George St. Pierre, Josh Koschech, Jon Fitch and others are competing.
Sanchez made his decision to go back to the welterweight division after he wrote a message on his tweeter: “YES IM GOING BACK TO WELTERWEIGHT IM LOVING MY NEW DIET.I WANT KOS OR FITCH BUT ANY TOP GUY WILL DO JUST WANT TO GIVE U FANS THE BEST FIGHT.”
Sanchez won “The Ultimate Fighter” Season one, compiling a record of 8-2 (Winn-Loss) with two of his losses came from Josh Koscheck and Jon Fitch. Sanchez was very vocal about fighting Fitch and Koscheck to redeem himself on those losses.
Sanchez will return to the Octagon and will fight top rated Jon Hathaway in one of the fight cards at UFC 114: Rampage vs. Evans on May 29th.
