– A lightweight fight between Joe Stevenson and Takanori Gomi is in the works for August 1 at UFC on Versus 2, which takes place in Salt Lake City, Utah.

– Cheick Kongo has signed a new six-fight deal with the UFC. Kongo (15-6-1) is 8-4 in the UFC since making his Octagon debut in 2006. Kongo is coming off a win over Paul Buentello at UFC on Versus 1 following two straight losses to Frank Mir and Cain Velasquez.
