Belfort has undergone emergency surgery for a lingering shoulder injury. Belfort told Sherdog that he can resume training in four months and is targeting a return to the UFC by the end of this year.

Vitor Belfort was forced to withdraw from a scheduled matchup with Anderson Silva at UFC 112 on Thursday due to the shoulder injury. Anderon Silva’s opponent will be determined shortly.
