- It’s now official.

UFC has announced that two-time champion Frank Mir (13-4 MMA, 11-4 UFC) and No. 1 contender Shane Carwin (11-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) will face off at UFC 111 for the Interim Heavyweight Title.

The bout will be the co-main event of the show, which takes place on March 27th from the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. The fight has been rumored for some time, due to the health issues of Brock Lesnar, which have still not been resolved.
