UFC 106 Fighter Medical Suspensions Announced

and Anthony Johnson were among the 10 fighters in action at Saturday’s event in Las Vegas who were issued suspensions from the Nevada State Athletic Commission on Monday stemming from their bouts.

Griffin, who defeated in the main event, has been suspended until May unless cleared early by a doctor for a right foot injury. Luiz Cane, Marcus Davis, Brock Larson, and Jason Dent were also issued six-month suspensions after suffering injuries in losses on the card.

Johnson, who was submitted in the second-round by in the co-headliner, is suspended until December 22 for precautionary reasons.

The medical suspensions for were:

  • : Suspended until May 21 unless cleared by doctor for right foot injury. Minimum suspension until December 22.
  • Anthony Johnson: Suspended until December 22 for precautionary reasons.
  • : Suspended until December 22 for nasal bridge cut.
  • Jacob Volkmann: Suspended until December 13 for scalp and nasal bridge cuts.
  • Luiz Cane: Suspended until May 21 unless cleared by doctor for right orbital fracture. Minimum suspension until January 6.
  • Phil Baroni: Suspended until January 6 for left eyebrow and left scalp lacerations.
  • Marcus Davis: Suspended until May 21 unless cleared by doctor for broken nose. Minimum suspension until January 6 for multiple cuts.
  • Brock Larson: Suspended until May 21 unless cleared by doctor for broken nose. Minimum suspension until January 21.
  • George Sotiropoulos: Suspended until December 22 for cut over left eyebrow.
  • Jason Dent: Suspended until May 21 unless cleared by doctor for left knee injury.
