UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar is unable to fight Shane Carwin in the main event of UFC 108 on January 2, leaving the UFC 108 main event in jeopardy.

Lesnar was scheduled to take on Carwin later this month in the main event of UFC 106, but was forced to postpone the matchup due to an extended illness, which is believed to be mononucleosis. The illness prevented Lesnar from training for over a month.

The fight was then scheduled for UFC 108, but with Lesnar still battling the illness and unable to train, the fight will again be postponed and tentatively scheduled for UFC 109 on February 6.
