Anderson Silva Having Surgery, Fight Night 19 News and More

- The Ultimate Fighter 9 winner Ryan Bader (9-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) will host the Q&A session prior to UFC Fight Night 19, the Q&A will take place Tuesday, Sept. 15 at Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City prior to the weigh-ins.

- According to Variety, Steven Soderbergh has committed to direct Knockout, which will star female MMA star and former American Gladiator Gina Carano. The plan is to surround Carano with name actors in supporting roles. Carano will play a girl, from the wrong side of the tracks, who is given a second chance to use her skills for constructive purposes. The film is said to be in the style of La Femme Nikita and Kill Bill and will be an all out action film. The plan is to shoot in Ireland, Turkey and the U.S.

- It’s been confirmed that will soon have surgery on his elbow. The surgery will keep him out for the remainder of 2009, with an early 2010 return being targeted. This obviously ends any chance of him headlining on November 14th.

Silva is currently undefeated in the UFC, having won all 10 of his fights. He last beat at . When he returns, Silva will likely face or Nate Marquardt.
